Message from the Minister

Friends we are going to meet again in New Delhi.

The 6th PBD will be held from 7th - 9th January 2008. The PBD provides a platform for overseas Indians to help bond with India. As you know the UPA Government under the leadership of Dr. Manmohan Singh attaches the utmost importance to the overseas Indian community. We appreciate your enterprises and success. We would like you to be a partner in our progress.

The theme of the PBD 2008 will be Engaging the Diaspora: the way ahead, giving an opportunity to help deliver your opinion and have a better discussion. Friends you may recall, last year the Prime Minister made three announcements during his Inaugural Address.

Overseas Indian Facilitation Centre and
Council for Overseas Employment Opportunities.

I am happy to report to you that my Ministry has fulfilled all these three commitments. This PBD will give you an opportunity to interact with Indian Leadership and also giving a better opportunity to understand in what way India is moving ahead. So, friends I invite you to be a part of this exciting journey to your motherland, India.
